Celebrating Seuss

The Southwestern Central Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Read Across America and its own Pick A Reading Partner initiative during the week of Feb. 27-March 3, 2017, with themed dress-up days such as “Wear Your Shirt Backward Day,” plus guest and faculty readers. The creative cafeteria staff at the elementary school also prepared a fantastical feast on March 2 – Dr. Seuss’ 114th birthday – featuring Green Eggs & Ham, Wocket Pocket Sandwiches, Assorted Greens & Other Things, Hop on Pop Corn, Blue Goo Mashed Potatoes and, of course, the very rare Truffala Fruit. It was a ludicrous literary luncheon enjoyed by young Seuss fans.
