222 Closet, a Free Resource for Students

How to Support the 222 Closet at Southwestern High School

The 222 Closet at Southwestern High School -- a free apparel, supplies & food resource for students -- is housed in a bright, welcoming space formerly used for home economics classes.

All middle and high school students are welcome to shop at the store if they need clothes, shoes, coats, personal care items, or food for the weekends. Teacher Beth Stockwell oversees the store, which is supported by staff, students, and community members. Stockwell's students occasionally assist with sorting and organizing the 222 Closet.

Community members going through their closets are encouraged to donate the following:

  • hangers
  • men's sweatpants and sweatshirts
  • men's coats
  • men's gym shoes in good condition
  • women's sweatpants, yoga pants or leggings as well as sweatshirts
  • women's coats
  • women's gym shoes in good condition
  • men's and women's underwear and socks in new or like-new condition.
  • Any men's or women's personal care items

Community members interested in donating items or funds to the 222 Closet should contact Ms. Stockwell at bstockwell@swcsk12.org or 1-716-664-6273.
