Southwestern High School is proud to announce that this year’s musical production of Once Upon a Mattress has received multiple nominations in the prestigious Shea’s Theatre Wonder Awards—a celebration of excellence in high school theatre across Western New York.

This year’s production has been recognized in several standout categories, highlighting the depth of talent and teamwork within Southwestern’s theatre program:

These nominations reflect the creativity, collaboration, and dedication of the entire production team—from the cast and pit orchestra to the technical crew and faculty advisors. Each element of the show came together to create a vibrant and memorable theatrical experience, showcasing the strength of the arts at Southwestern.

The Wonder Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of May 16 at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo. It promises to be a special night celebrating student achievement and the power of live performance.
