Southwestern Middle School is pleased to announce its Students of the Month for October 2023. Congratulations to sixth-grader Drayton Ross, seventh-grader Lucy Messina and eighth-grader Georgia Rickard.

Sixth-grader Drayton Ross’s favorite subjects in school are social studies and science. Drayton plays for the Southwestern JV football team and the Southwestern Youth Basketball team.  He is also a member of the Southwestern Middle School Choir.  When Drayton is not at school, he enjoys playing videogames and playing football with his dad. Drayton is the son of Kylie Ross and Thomas Thompson Jr.

Seventh-grader Lucy Messina’s favorite subject in school is art because it’s relaxing, fun, and allows her to be creative.  She is on the Southwestern swim team and track and field team.  Lucy is also in choir, band, and on the student council!  Outside of school, she is a part of Star Swimming and Tiffany Wakeley Dance.  When Lucy is not in school, she enjoys playing with friends and art. Lucy is the daughter of Lori and Marty Messina.

Eighth-grader Georgia Rickard’s favorite subject in school is English Language Arts. Outside of school, Georgia enjoys playing softball.  Some of her favorite ways to pass the time include drawing, painting, and shopping. Georgia is the daughter of Jill and Stu Rickard.
