Title 1 Remedial Reading Teacher K-5 About me: After leaving a 15 year career as a CICU R.N., I chose to become an Educator. I have been teaching reading to children for 14 years. I was trained in "Reading Recovery" 13 years ago. I have continually sought out programs I felt would benefit my reading students who require extra help. Feeling a void in what was available for children with varied learning problems requiring a multisensory program, I came across LindaMood Bell programs. I found a training site and independently went for training in these programs listed below more than (9) years ago. It is my belief that the keys to reaching struggling readers are as follows; An understanding of the frustrations of a struggling reader, experience in identifying each child's strengths as well as their weaknesses & most importantly an absolute commitment to teaching children the love of reading.
