Southwestern Middle School has announced its top students for April 2020. Congratulations to sixth-grader Carson Couchenour, seventh-grader Seth Vaughn and eighth-grader Abby Strother on their accomplishment.

Sixth-grader Carson Couchenour’s favorite subjects are math and science. He plays on the Southwestern Midget Football Team and plays the trumpet in the middle school band. When he isn’t in school, Carson likes to build with Legos, play with his dog, and go on cruises. One thing you may not know about him is he wants to be a mechanical engineer and design and build robots. He is the son of Chris and Tina Couchenour of Lakewood.
Seventh-grader Seth Vaughn’s favorite subjects are math and gym. He played on Southwestern Soccer, Basketball and Golf teams. Outside of school, he plays on Storm Soccer Team and likes the outdoors and being out in the woods. One thing you may not know about Seth is that he is colorblind and can’t have anything with dye in it. He is the son of Jennie and Jason Vaughn of Lakewood.
Eighth-grader Abby Strother’s favorite subjects are science, art and Spanish. She plays on the Southwestern Modified Volleyball Team and belongs to Southwestern Junior Honor Society, Prop Crew and Sewing Club. When she isn’t in school, Abby likes to paint. One thing you might be surprised to know about her is she played tennis throughout elementary school. She is the daughter of Stuart and Dawn Strother of Lakewood.
